Sa'i — Safa to Marwah

Walk seven lengths between As-Safa and Al-Marwah, finishing at Al-Marwah.

What to do

Keep it simple

Complete seven lengths

  • Start at As-Safa and walk to Al-Marwah. This is the first length.
  • Walk back from Al-Marwah to As-Safa for the second length.
  • Continue until seven lengths are completed. The seventh finishes at Al-Marwah.
  • Between the two green lights, men walk briskly if able. Women continue at their normal pace.

Dua during Sa'i

There is no fixed Dua for the whole walk. Make personal Dua, recite Qur'an or use Dhikr you know. At Al-Marwah, face the Qiblah and repeat the same Dhikr used at As-Safa.

Take your time

Do not rush beyond your ability. Keep a steady pace, especially if you are elderly, tired or walking with someone who needs support.

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

Transliteration

Subhan Allah; Wal hamdulilah; Wa la illaha illallah; Wallahu Akbar; La hawla wa laqu-aata illah billah.
